I haven't yet checked in with PV how her radiation went. How she took it lying down. She did mention that there is quite a bit of preparation before the actual radiation. The latter is very quickly done. Nevertheless, it makes for a long day.
Today I watched a part of the Democratic Convention held in Denver.
I also thought of the American athlete with leukemia who competed in the Olympics, who won and now returns home to take his treatment.
Incidentally PV actually misses the fact that she no longer has to commute to South Bombay as her office has moved closer to her. She loves the Nariman Point area.
I am personally happy that there is less of commuting for PV only because I hate commuting in Bombay. It's messy and harrowing. But PV is a very seasoned commuter.

Dear Priyanka and Asha,
Did you hear about the guy in Paris who almost got away with stealing several paintings from the Louvre ?
After planning the crime and getting in and out past security, he was captured only two blocks away when his minivan ran out of gas.
When asked how he could mastermind such a crime and then make such an obvious error, he replied: "Monsieur, I had no Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh."
( Bet you thought I lacked De Gaulle to send you a story like this. )
This is one of my favourite stories. It came to me about four years ago and has come back again and again since. Hope it made you smile.

Hey, that's truly ha! ha! stuff! Wish Monet, Degas, Van Gogh and De Gaulle could hear this!
